The Lhasa apso is a very endearing dog which originated in Tibet. They were originally used for guarding the monasteries and for warning the monks about approaching strangers to the monasteries. Free Lhasa apso puppies are also sometimes nicknamed the Lhasa or the Lhasa Terrier.
Free Lhasa Apsos grow up to a maximum height of eleven inches and weigh less at 15-18 pounds. All the Lhasa Apsos have a black nose. They have a thick and a dense coat with hair that is partly wavy and partly straight. The hair is neither silky nor woolly. Free Lhasa apso puppies come in many colours. There is no standard colour as such. Some free Lhasa apso puppies may also change colour as they grow up. However, it is advisable not to go for free Lhasa apso puppies if they have coloured ear tips.
Since they were originally used to guard monasteries, they have a very sharp sense of hearing and a loud bark which often betrays their petite size. From being very emotional, they do exhibit streaks of fearlessness and sudden bouts of energy. Friendly and lovable, they make good family dogs and are good with children though they may be a little possessive sometimes. They are not usually known to be aggressive.
With proper grooming consisting of brushing, combing, bathing and regular check ups with the vet, free lhasa apso puppies can live up to a ripe old age of 20 years.
